I get that you’re fighting an uphill battle of numbers against emotion.

But, if we get some awareness and sensible gun legislation because of the high-outrage stories, then doesn’t everybody win?

Not at all, if the policy we get isn’t actually sensible and doesn’t actually do anything to address the actual problems, because we have allowed our emotion to frame the problem instead of the numbers. If the “awareness” is fake, because it focuses on the wrong problem, then everybody loses.

I wasn’t going to drop my next article until Friday, but our dialog has spurred me to go ahead and drop it now. And thank you, sir, for the dialog. It’s been good.
