I agree that international comparisons aren’t meaningful. That was part of the material in Article Four.
…but the topic of civilian semi-automatic AR-15s and such is almost literally meaningless, because they constitute some number south of 0.7% of all gun deaths. Most gun deaths are suicides, most homicides are handguns.
