I don’t object to progressive taxation. I don’t object to affirmative action. I’ve probably done more personally on behalf of the ideals of affirmative action than anyone you’ve met, at a literal risk to my own employment. You’d have to fly to Atlanta and buy me a beer to hear that story, because it’s not one I’m going to publish.
But systems are hard to fix. The best way to fix systems that are broken, is to just dismantle the broken bits. Instead of defunding police, or micromanaging their interactions, it would make a lot more sense to reduce the laws the police are tasked to enforce.
