I don’t think our system is currently built to produce a leader like this.

I think we get the leaders we deserve, and right now we are all social media zombies who like/share/propagate echo chamber arguments that reinforce our prior biases, thereby deepening them. In that way, I think we deserve the leadership we have, on both sides.
