I had a long discussion with some SJ friends of mine on this topic - of consolidating a message and sorting through the conflicting dogma within SJ to establish some of it as "canon" and some "apocrypha," and they panned the idea to me. They said they like how it's crowdsourced and don't much care about inconsistencies. They don't want leaders. They refused, even, to admit that SJ was a thing at all. To them it was "decent people" and "everybody else." When I asked them whether they thought people outside of SJ were uniformly indecent, they refused to answer.

These are friends of mine.

I find that alarming. I don't see it going anywhere. There are no breaks on this thing.
