Something else intriguing about Gabbard that cropped up in a conversation elsewhere this morning…

Trump and Obama had two important things in common, issues-wise, with their campaigns:

1. Get out of the Middle East,
2. Eliminate the influence of money in Washington (a.k.a. “drain the swamp”)

Now I would argue that both Trump and Obama failed miserably on #2, and Obama clearly failed on #1. Trump may or may not fail on #1 as well, time will tell. But those two issues are winners in the ballot box, and Gabbard is the only Democrat who’s adopted the same stance as the last two people to win the general election.

No other Democrats are running on “withdraw from the ME” or “drain the swamp.”

So that will be an interesting thing to watch develop.
