I’m not convinced we have scarcity at all. I think we may have already reached what Marx styled as a “post-scarcity world,” on the backs of raw capitalism, by any truly objective measure. But the very fact that the goal posts constantly move on what we consider “scarcity” feeds the machine and drives the freakoutery.
