Thanks for the response. Two quick thoughts on the matter:
- Don’t formulate your opinion of the USA based on media freakoutery. I’ve lived in this country in a major metro area in a red state 43 years of my life and I have never seen a gun drawn in public, despite my state having an ownership rate of over 30%. The “wild west” is a media fabrication.
- There’s no good correlation between gun ownership rate and gun homicide rate in Europe either, just like there’s no good correlation between those two things on a state by state basis in the USA.

Almost everything regarding this issue is a pure media fabrication because it allows one political tribe to berate another political tribe with their clicks, and advertisers make a little money off of each beratement. That’s the entire source of the dialog.
