That quote is the bulk of the problem with PM, in my opinion. It makes sense when you limit it explicitly to art, or perhaps maybe psychology if it’s treated with kid gloves and drown in a big helping of biology and genetics. But past that, it’s basically useless to the sciences, and it’s outright dangerous to think you can use it as a framework for society when the framework might not fit the scientific facts.
