When I see Militia (which seems like a logical association with Preppers) escorting Neo-Nazis shouting; “Jews shall not replace us”, and given the prewar history of Germany; the politics and the logic of preparation really seem at odds.

Well that’s the thing, isn’t it? A politically dispassionate and entire rational prepper might see that and think “man, the extremists are rising, I better buy another box of ammo.”
