The funny thing about this is, quite honestly, there’s not much left to say. I think at this point if I got into any sort of disagreement with a gun control advocate I could probably just point to a prior article.
When I embarked on this thing, I wanted to make sense of numbers and leave rights out of it, because the ‘rights’ arguments aren’t resolvable. I’m very “pro gun rights” ideologically, but different people fall in different places on the (security)-(freedom) spectrum, so any ‘rights’ based argument is just going to highlight their differences.
My overall point, quite honestly, is that if you take a bare, stark look at the numbers, the rights don’t even matter.
