The thing I find so fascinating and frustrating about the left’s eschewing of his overall message, is that the message is so simple. It’s something that most people in my generation simply consider good parenting.
“Clean your room bucko.” Well, obviously. “Assume responsibility for your actions.” Well, obviously. These things aren’t profound, they’re actually rather banal. Which is why the left’s reaction to those things, which should be universal, is so terrifying.
There’s something deeper going on here, at the level of language itself. I repeatedly get the impression that JP says something, and certain people I know personally are literally hearing different words.
