This is the weakest argument on the entire left hand side of the gun control equation, because we have an almost exact test case going right now, 18+ years in the making. It’s called Afghanistan. It’s lasted over twice as long as World War 2, and our opponents are goat herders with no technology, Kalishnakovs, and IEDs, who are otherwise so backward they wipe their asses with rocks. And the goat herders are going to win.

So no. This argument is not consistent with the facts.
