Trump won by flipping Florida and the Rust Belt. Trump probably has Florida in the bag in 2020, and I’m not convinced anyone in the D field has a better chance of flipping the rust belt back than Bernie. “Insanity” would be running someone who is only going to win California and New York more, while ignoring the states that bailed on the D agenda in 2016.
