We are honestly probably lucky that the perpetrators are using AR-15s instead of pistols for mass shootings, because pistols would be a better weapon for the job, particularly inside buildings. Banning AR-15s would funnel idiot mass shooters into using more effective weapons.

That said, mass shooters, in particular school shooters, are such a tremendously tiny fraction of the overall gun death problem that we should really probably ignore it and confine it to the local news.

And no, we should not ignore suicide. Because suicide is the vast majority of our actual problem.
