People worried about birthrates should help working mothers
Well, see, here’s the thing. Working mothers are at a competitive disadvantage in the workplace because single people without children, and married people who have a stay at home spouse (which are predominantly men), and divorced people without custody (which are also predominantly men) have more time to devote to their careers.
The one biggest thing that lawmakers could do to correct this burden, strangely enough, is to give divorced men 50/50 custody by default, spreading the child rearing burden equally.
