Well yes, testosterone is a thing in primates. But how much? If having more helps one village catch bigger wooly mammoths than the other village down the road, and village A has social frameworks that manage it better than village B, then you have a social feedback into the gene propagation.

I firmly believe this stuff is looped back on itself, and each (society/biology) feeds the other. But I don’t claim to be an expert.
