Are there any statistics on the net worth of murderers?

What a fascinating question. Not that I’m aware, at least in that form. It’s known that homicide rate tracks with wealth inequality (Gini coefficient).

It’s also known that lower IQ folks tend to populate the prison system, and that IQ is related to earnings.

But that raises an interesting point. Someone isn’t a “murderer” in the statistics unless they get caught. Smarter people, and wealthier people, are less likely to get caught. So even if there were statistics on it, there would be an important selection bias in the sample.
